Picture a spring afternoon in Florence. You have just finished your museum visits and are looking for a place to relax with a glass of wine or a drink. If you’re seeking something different from the usual tourist spots, consider exploring the unusual things to do in Florence —perhaps a hidden rooftop bar with stunning views, a historic wine cellar tucked away from the crowds, or a secret speakeasy where the atmosphere takes you back in time.
A great idea for a relaxing break in the city is a drink on one of the panoramic terraces, in one of the rooftop bars in Florence, where you can sit down and enjoy one of the many Florence best viewes.

It certainly is a winning idea, if you know, where to go!
In a city like Florence, even among the rooftop bars there are few tourist traps. You might risk to pay a high bill for a watered-down cocktail served at a table from which you cannot see any particular view at all.
How to avoid unpleasant surprises?
Here is for you a list of quality rooftop bars in Florence!
The best rooftop bar in Florence (+ useful tips)
A terrace, a view, a glass of wine: this could be a plan for an afternoon on one of your weekends in Florence. Since you won’t be the only ones who want to stop for an aperitif in one of the rooftop bars in Florence, my advice is that you book your table in advance! As you can imagine, it’s not easy to find a free spot at the last minute.
But what are the best rooftop bars in Florence for a cocktail with a view?
Aria Rooftop
Perfect for: cocktails, fine wines, and Tuscan flavors in a stylish setting.
Aria is the bar of the Hotel Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi in via del Giglio. The bar opens every evening from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. For the 2025 season, the reopening is scheduled for May 1st.
Aria is an elegant and modern bar where you can choose from a wide selection of cocktails, wines and sparkling wines, accompanied by a classic Tuscan tagliere, delicious fried snack, called “bolla”, or a tasty fish-based dish.
Highly recommended!
Roof Macchiavelli Palace
Perfect for: a more informal evening.

Not far from the train station, in the San Lorenzo area is the Roof, the bar of the Macchiavelli Palace hotel. Open from March 1st to November 2nd, Roof is a simple and welcoming place where to sip a drink with a view.

Being located behind the Basilica of San Lorenzo, your point of view will be particular, with the dome of the Medici Chapels in front of that of the Duomo.

If you are looking for a more informal bar, where you can spend a pleasant evening, this is a place for you!
701 Rooftop bar
Perfect for: where new meets old
701 Rooftop bar is the bar on the terrace of the Gallery Hotel Art in Vicolo dell’Oro, a stone’s throw from the Ponte Vecchio.

The bar is open from 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm and offers a selection of cocktails, gin, whiskey, wines and beers. Drinks are served with snacks, so don’t expect sophisticated dishes or a vast gastronomic offer.

The view, however, is really worth it. You’ll admire a beautiful panorama of the centre with the Arnolfo Tower and Brunelleschi’s dome. Definitely a perfect place for a relaxing afternoon and evening!

La Terrazza Rooftop Bar
Perfect for: mid-century elegance
Next to the Gallery Hotel Art is another hotel of the Lungarno Collection network: the Hotel Continentale. The Terrazza Rooftop Bar of the Hotel Continentale is probably the most famous rooftop in Florence.

Here too you will find a wide menu of cocktails, wines, spirits and beers, served as aperitifs, with appetizers and snacks. The view from the top is truly unique. Since the hotel is literally next to the Ponte Vecchio, you will feel like you can look inside the jewellery stores on the bridge! Remember to book a table, because La Terrazza is a really popular rooftop! The bar reopens for the new season in April.

Disopra – rooftop bar of the Hotel degli Orafi
Perfect for: a breathtaking view of the Duomo

The Hotel degli Orafi, also located in the Ponte Vecchio area, a few steps from the Hotel Continentale, also opens its rooftop bar to external guests. Disopra is an elegant terrace, with a breathtaking view of the Duomo.

The bar offers AperiVista, which you can enjoy as a light lunch, an aperitif or an after-dinner drink, as they are served from 12:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

Here you can also experience a wine tasting with wines from Fattoria Ormanni, accompanied by cold cuts, cheeses and bruschetta. It is a great idea for a relaxing afternoon, after your museum visits!

Disopra experiences are organized by reservation only.

Divina Terrazza
Perfect for: vibrant cocktails and a stunning panorama
A stone’s throw from the Duomo is the Divina Terrazza, the rooftop bar of the Hotel Cavour in via del Proconsolo. The strong point of this rooftop is its proximity to Brunelleschi’s Dome. You will really feel like you are sipping your Negroni in the shadow of the dome.
Furthermore, the terrace is available all year round thanks to the external covers that are installed in the winter. The Divine Terrace is a very popular place, so reservations are mandatory here too! You can book your table on the Hotel Cavour website.
Angel rooftop bar
Perfect for: glamorous Deco atmosphere
Angel, the rooftop of the Hotel Calimala, is much more than a simple bar. Here you will find a restaurant and two bars with a menu for lunch, dinner, aperitif or for a simple drink with a view.
The kitchen offers dishes in my favourite style: based on Italian tradition, but interpreted in a new, fresh and creative way. On the menu you will find lots of fish and seafood.
During the aperitif your drink can be served with a traditional tagliere, a platter of cheeses and cold cuts, or with some light dish like hummus, salad, fried ravioli and other delicacies.
Angel is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12:00 to 23:00. To book visit the Hotel website.
La Loggia
Perfect for: connecting with the local vibes
Also in the Oltrarno neighbourhood you can relax sipping a drink with a view! The beautiful Loggia of Palazzo Guadagni in Piazza Santo Spirito is one of the most iconic bars in the city. Far from the chaos of the city centre, at the Loggia you will find a bit of calm, a view of the Basilica of Santo Spirito and an aperitif with a selection of cocktails, wines and light dishes.
You know: the Tuscan platter with cold cuts and cheeses is a must. At the Loggia, however, can also try a club sandwich, a tramezzino or a carpaccio.
The Loggia is also a good destination for an afternoon tea accompanied by a slice of cheesecake or chocolate cake!

The Social Hub
Perfect for: those who enjoy a fresh, fun, and lively setting
Are you looking for a rooftop in Florence that is different, young and lively?
Then the Social Hub bar in Viale Lavagnini is the place for you. The Social Hub is located just outside the centre, along the avenues, the viali, where the walls of Florence once stood. The rooftop bar is open all year round.

If you climb top the top floor, you will be surprised! At the Social Hub you can relax sipping your drink on board of a pool!

The rooftop of the Social Hub is a young place, like the entire hotel, designed as a student residence for foreign students. Their bar is a nice place where to relax with a drink in hand, or where to hide to for a work call. Don’t expect a long menu for your aperitif. Your drink can be served with some appetizers, a selection of cheeses and snacks, but if you are looking for an escape from the chaos of Florence, this is the right place!
B-Roof
Perfect for: chic and exclusive venue, suited for unforgettable fine dining experiences

I couldn’t miss B-Roof, a rooftop where I left my heart.
B-Roof is an American bar and a restaurant, a very elegant and classy restaurant, perfect for very special dinners. If you are looking for a place where to celebrate your anniversary, birthday, or where to spend a truly romantic evening, the B-Roof is the perfect place.

The food is delicious: Italian tradition at its best!
The view of the Duomo: breathtaking!
B-Roof is the rooftop bar of the Hotel Baglioni, just a few steps from the train station Santa Maria Novella, in Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia. If you want to add a truly special evening to your stay in Florence, book a table at this truly unique restaurant.

I hope this selection of the best rooftops in Florence will help you organize special moments during your stay in Florence!
